Those familiar with Lake Tahoe understand what a truly special place it is.  The majestic mountains, rich forests and deep blue lake provide a setting like no other in the world.  Not only is it visually spectacular, but the area is considered by many as one of natures greatest year-round destinations!  Over 3 million people visit the Tahoe Basin each year, and for many, the idea of owning a home in the mountains can be a great source of pride that enables cherished memories for generations to come.

At Mountain Getaways, we help our clients enjoy the best that this home ownership experience has to offer while eliminating many of the challenges that can come with the territory.  Our belief is that when you purchase a home in the mountains, the journey has only just begun.  Not only do you need expert Agent representation to ensure that you are buying the property that best suits your lifestyle, but you also deserve the peace of mind that comes from knowing that your property is being professionally managed in a manner that is conducive with your expectations.

Property types we manage include...

  • Vacation Rentals - Generally defined as residential units rented for 30 days or less. Average rental periods vary and are typically between 2 days to 2 weeks in duration. This option provides maximum flexibility for owners looking to generate rental income while continuing to enjoy occasional usage of their property. Vacation Rental Properties are required to be registered with their local governing entity, collect and remit taxes with each reservation, ensure that their rental guests comply with local ordinances and that a local contact is available to respond to emergencies promptly. There is no formal license required to manage Vacation Rental Properties.

  • Ski Leases - Technically considered a long-term lease (as defined by the CA Department of Real Estate - 31 days or longer). This is a popular option for owners who enjoy using their property during warmer months, but generally do not visit during the winter. In this instance, a 3 - 5 month ski lease can be a great way to generate steady income while affording another group an opportunity to enjoy your property throughout ski season. A CA Real Estate Brokers License is required to manage Ski Lease Properties.

  • Seasonal Leases - Similar to a ski lease in design, seasonal leases are structured for a temporary but defined period of time. This is a popular option for owners who travel and / or are only able to visit their property during certain times of year. Typical lease durations are 2 - 9 months and can be structured at any time throughout the year. A CA Real Estate Brokers License is required to manage Seasonal Lease Properties.

  • Long Term Rentals - Typically 1 year or more in duration, long term rentals are best suited for owners who are seeking consistent rental income in exchange for giving up full access to their property. Long term rentals can be either furnished or unfurnished play an important role in providing housing for local residents. A CA Real Estate Brokers License is required to manage Long Term Rental Properties.
